About Lizzie
Looking back from here, pre-school age, I was aware and connected with the life force that is within us all and nature.
Unfortunately, my awareness of this dwindled away due to traumas and the indoctrination of western society. A spark did remain however, as I still love nature and animals.
Sadly, my darling father died at work when I was only eight, this obviously had a profound effect on shaping me. I was always interested in caring for others and helping them. So naively I went into nursing, I was a Registered General Nurse for sixteen years in the NHS, specializing in
- Women’s Health
- Neurology and Neurosurgery
- Accident & Emergency and
- Medicine
where I did acquire a deep broad knowledge base and skills. I left the NHS as a ward sister, empty and burnout but continued to work within the medical field in clinical research for seven years, I left there burnout again, and I realised things needed to change. I had a yearning for something, but I didn’t know what, at that stage.
A major shift occurred in me when I was blessed to have my first horse in 1998 and she stimulated me to go in the direction of my heart for the first time. I opened myself up to look at complimentary holistic therapies for animal wellness.
Then after a riding accident (my big wakeup call) I was confronted by my own need for healing, so I investigated many different therapeutic methods. None of them got deep enough or had a lasting effect, nor did they crucially empower me. Until I found an Alexander Technique teacher and I was hooked immediately, I qualified and set up practice in 2013.
In a nutshell this process has got me back in my body, I am once again embodied. For me it has been the reconnection to my inner vitality and allowing it to merge with my life force again.
I also have found a new self-determination to search out new ways in all aspects of my life, thanks to the process of inquiry I am now on. I am on my own journey to the intuitive reintegration of my true self.
Since then, I have continued with my passion and drive to find more and more ways to holistic, embody wellness for myself and others. I have and will always be a searcher, studying and implementing many other mind/body wellness and Trauma Informed Awareness modalities.
Along the way, I have had my own life and wellness challenges, for which I found the causes and their solutions. This has further deepened my awareness and enhanced my ability to connect and relate to others. I have also navigated my own life stepping stone issues from this altered perspective.
I am similarly learning, to ignore stereotypes, embrace what I had classed as my weirdness, to now nurture, embrace and cultivate as my unique gifts and traits. That my willingness to be vulnerable, open and share my viewpoint is one of my superpowers.
I am passionate about empowering others, so that they too can liberate themselves from limiting wellbeing challenges, beliefs, pain, stress, emotional tensions, patterns and past traumas and therefore give themselves more choices. There is never only one answer or way.
So here I am with a broad knowledge of wellbeing solutions from
- lifestyle
- nutrition,
- emotional distress
- stress
- body symptoms and what they signal
I have an instinct for navigating exploration with my clients over my whole wellness career: to walk by their side to uncover what is true for them and how to reconnect with their own true wellbeing.
